Chicken (Tinolang Manok) - Sookie

Ingredients

2lbs chicken, preferably with bones and skin. But you can do without.
10 cloves of garlic, chopped.
Piece of ginger, roughly 2-2.5 inches long, chopped into thin strips
1 onion quartered
1 lb head of cabbage, quartered.
2 bunches of asparagus, chopped.
2 hot peppers -- pref. birds' eye chilis
Thai Fish sauce
Black Pepper

Directions

Lightly saute the garlic in the pot. Cook until it's sweating. Throw in the onions, ginger. Add in the chicken,
two pinches of salt and some black pepper. Throw in the hot peppers. Cover the chicken with water.
Set stove to high and let the liquid boil. Once boiling, reduce heat to low-medium and cook for about an
hour or until the chicken is cooked. Taste broth for flavor -- add fish sauce and pepper to taste. Add
vegetables to soup when you have about 10 minutes left for cooking.
*crosses fingers and hopes this works*
Thanks, Sookie
